LADIES LUNCHEON 2009

Just wanted to report one of the best ladies luncheon ever! Denise Jackson hit a home run in sharing her story straight from the heart! The ladies loved her and listened intently! I firmly believe that God touched hearts and lives were changed! Misty Freeman did an outstanding job with her songs and the true message of the songs were heard! God was working the whole time. To top off the night, Joe Johnson and his jazz band did a fantastic job and sharing their music during our meal time. Oh what talent! The meal was great and the message therapists were busy! There was not a better group of volunteers ever to help at the mission! They were awesome and made my life so much easier. I truly appreciate the services of the volunteers and am so thankful for their willingness to serve. Keep praying for us as we look forward to next year's luncheon. If you would like for me to put you on my list to contact for next year's event, please send me an email to jackmcmd@aol.com or give me a call at 615-310-8463. Ladies Luncheon 2009

We are preparing for our Ladies Luncheon for May of 2009 and we are requesting a financial donation for this event. The day of the event has been set for Thursday, May 7. Our special guest speaker will be Denise Jackson, country music artist Alan Jackson's wife. The ladies attending come from domestic violence shelters, drug addiction and substance abuse centers, prison return ministries, prostitution restoration houses, low income housing, and retirement centers. It is an event where the women are treated like ladies and are given a message of encouragement and hope from our very special speaker. Our music will be provided by Misty Freeman, part of the Southern Gospel group called The Freemans. Misty has produced solo albums and travels across the country sharing her music. We will also have Joe Johnson, a renowned jazz musician, serenading the ladies as they have lunch. Also, Hi Tech Institute will have 10 massage therapists there, giving all the ladies present a relaxation massage! What a combination of entertainment, pleasure, and hope!

The cost of this event is approximately $3000 and we need your assistance. If you can make a donation, please make a check payable to Music City Mission and send the check to P.O.Box 110913, Nashville, TN 37211. Any amount you send will be tax deductible.

Thank you for your support. If you need additional information, please call Jack Myers at 615-310-8463.

Blessings,

Christmas Party for Kids 2008

Our Christmas Party for Kids was attended by 300 children. It was an awesome party and the kids had a great time. They were entertained by Terry Hedges, a Christian magician, who did an outstanding job. Trace Marshall again came and sang for the children and did a great job. Of course, Santa made his appearance and the kids loved him. As an added bonus, we gave away 4 bicycles in a drawing and the children were excited!

We had a great group of volunteers who did an outstanding job. The support for the party was tremendous and we sincerely appreciate all the help we received. The children went home with lots of gifts and memories they will cherish. What a great way to close out the year at the mission.

May God Bless you all with a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Lipscomb University Serves Music City Mission

During the Fall & Spring semesters of the 2007/2008 school year, two groups of students from Introduction to Sociology classes at Lipscomb Univ. led a devotional and prayer, and prepared a meal for a group of guests ranging from those experiencing homelessness to those recovering from alcohol addiction. The students not only cooked and served the food, but they sat down with the guests for a time of sharing, learning, and seeing the world from a new perspective. Many students bonded with individuals during these experiences and have kept contact with their new friends through letters, Bible studies on the phone, and even meeting up for a meal at McDonald's. These experiences were definitely eye-opening for many of the Lipscomb students who had never conversed with individuals from such diverse backgrounds. They experiended a "mission trip" just 10 minutes from their college campus!

Ladies' Luncheon - June 2008

Each year around Mother's Day, we host a very special event at the MCM. We bring ladies in from various living environments; residents of Trevecca Towers Retirement Rommunity, domestic violence shelters, drug & alchol rehab programs, low-income housing, etc. We share a meal with them prepared by volunteers, bring in a special guest speaker and musician, pamper the women by showering them with gifts and bringing in massage therapists, and show them how truly beautiful they are, inside and out. Here are some photo's from this the 2008 Ladies' Luncheon, which took place in June. The special guest speaker was the Jennifer O'Neill. She truly blessed us with her message of amazing strength and faith.

2007 Christmas Party for the Kids

Every Christmas we host an event in which kids from all over Middle TN come to the MCM for an afternoon of snacks, story-telling, music, a visit with Santa, and toys galore! We would not be able to do this without the help of many volunteers from all walks of life. A special guest joins us each year, and this past year we were blessed to have Buddy Jewel, the winner of the first Nashville Star singing competion, join us to share his wonderful testimony and music. So many lives were touched that day; not just the children, but everyone involved. What a wonderful blessing this day was! Allow us to share with you some photos from this past Christmas Party for the kids.
