Lipscomb University Serves Music City Mission

During the Fall & Spring semesters of the 2007/2008 school year, two groups of students from Introduction to Sociology classes at Lipscomb Univ. led a devotional and prayer, and prepared a meal for a group of guests ranging from those experiencing homelessness to those recovering from alcohol addiction. The students not only cooked and served the food, but they sat down with the guests for a time of sharing, learning, and seeing the world from a new perspective. Many students bonded with individuals during these experiences and have kept contact with their new friends through letters, Bible studies on the phone, and even meeting up for a meal at McDonald's. These experiences were definitely eye-opening for many of the Lipscomb students who had never conversed with individuals from such diverse backgrounds. They experiended a "mission trip" just 10 minutes from their college campus!

Ladies' Luncheon - June 2008

Each year around Mother's Day, we host a very special event at the MCM. We bring ladies in from various living environments; residents of Trevecca Towers Retirement Rommunity, domestic violence shelters, drug & alchol rehab programs, low-income housing, etc. We share a meal with them prepared by volunteers, bring in a special guest speaker and musician, pamper the women by showering them with gifts and bringing in massage therapists, and show them how truly beautiful they are, inside and out. Here are some photo's from this the 2008 Ladies' Luncheon, which took place in June. The special guest speaker was the Jennifer O'Neill. She truly blessed us with her message of amazing strength and faith.

2007 Christmas Party for the Kids

Every Christmas we host an event in which kids from all over Middle TN come to the MCM for an afternoon of snacks, story-telling, music, a visit with Santa, and toys galore! We would not be able to do this without the help of many volunteers from all walks of life. A special guest joins us each year, and this past year we were blessed to have Buddy Jewel, the winner of the first Nashville Star singing competion, join us to share his wonderful testimony and music. So many lives were touched that day; not just the children, but everyone involved. What a wonderful blessing this day was! Allow us to share with you some photos from this past Christmas Party for the kids.
